Tourism is one of the fastest-growing industries in China. The total income of China’s tourism industry was USD 67.3 billion in 2002, which accounts for 5.44% of the GDP. In 2003, this was decreased to USD 59 billion due to SARS. China’s tourism industry is presently recuperating from SARS epidemic. However, tourism is still the main source of revenue for regions that are rich in resources. There are numerous international and domestic travel agencies in China. World Tourism Organization (WTO) has predicted that China’s tourism industry will take up to 8.6% of world market share and will become the world’s leading tourism industry by 2020.
